Frequently Asked Questions

Can you help with transport?

Sure can!  And for a limited time, if you sign on with us, you won't be charged travel to or from our centre for the life of your current Service Agreement.     The only time you pay for any travel is outside of our normal community based day programs.  Ie- When your Support Partner takes you somewhere or runs an errand for you, or if we are doing any pre-arranged special trips outside of Bowen town limits.

What can you do to help my loved one be involved?

Many participants crave genuine connection, but find it hard to make or maintain friendships.  Our centre creates the fun, all you have to do is turn up.  Our staff are there to make sure everyone feels welcome, involved and help start conversations and interactions.  Think of our programs as ice breakers to start meaningful connections.

Can I claim from my NDIS Plan?

Most NDIS Participants or Nominees with a Self or Plan Managed plans will be able to claim our services from Core or Capacity Building budgets in their NDIS Plan. You will be emailed an invoice you can use for claims. We work with Plan Managers to ensure we are compliant with their claiming rules.

Can I use more than one service? â€‹

Absolutely!  NDIS encourages choice and control.  This means you can manage your plan and your supports your way.  In fact, we strongly recommend participants don't keep all of their NDIS eggs in one basket.  Having a wider support base builds resilience, you'll be exposed more support workers, different experiences, have back up options if your usual service is short staffed (which is totally normal in our industry!).

I really don't understand my plan, can you help?

Not a problem!    Your NDIS Local Area Coordinator should always be your first point of call to help you implement your plan and for community connections, however we understand sometimes it's nice to get additional perspective. We can sit down and help you gain more clarity and understanding around how you can utilise your plan to maximise your support and enhance your current experiences.  We encourage Choice & Control, so our advise will always be about connecting with as many services as you like.  We value transparency, so our focus will always be about helping you achieve your NDIS plan goals.  We can also refer you to other programs & providers that service our area too.  We work closely with Support Coordinators, who sometimes hold free community sessions.  Additionally, we strongly recommend The Growing Space's online workshops, including "Can I Buy It?" as a great starting point to help bring clarity to your plan.

What types of programs do you have?

We have both centre and community based activities.  Our programs focus on areas that many participants find beneficial, including:

  • Building social connections and making new friends

  • Developing life skills and community safety awareness

  • Fostering independence and enhancing daily living skills

  • Improving gross motor, fine motor, and sensory processing

  • Supporting emotional regulation through structured activities

We create a safe, welcoming environment where participants are encouraged to learn at their own pace. Our approach is patient, supportive, and, most importantly, fun and engaging.
